Description
Butyl Glycol is a clear, colorless, oily liquid with a unique, sweet, yet mild odor. Butyl Glycol is a butyl ether of ethylene glycol and is soluble in water and common organic solvents. It has been produced industrially for more than half a century and is one of the most effective solvents in water-based coating systems and alkyd resin paints.
Other uses of Butyl Glycol is as a solvent in printing ink for leather products, cleaners, hydraulic fluids, drilling oils, and as raw materials for butyl glycol acetate and plasticizers in reaction with phthalic anhydride.
